LabCorp CEO: U.S. is “ready to start to open”

With the capacity to test for coronavirus rapidly increasing, the U.S. is “ready to start to open,” LabCorp CEO Adam Schechter told CNBC today.

LabCorp, based in Burlington, is currently in negotiations with companies across the country to test employees and allow them to return to work. The company can currently process 80,000 COVID-19 tests per day and will be at 150,000 by mid-June.

“I believe that we are ready to start to open up states with the testing that’s available today and that’s only going to increase over the coming weeks,” Schechter said. “We are going to do everything we possibly can to help employers get employees back to work.”
